His recent three-year contract extension may be questionable from a performance standpoint, but there's no disputing that the Cardinals and their fans value the leadership and game-calling prowess of their longtime backstop, now in his 14th year with St. Louis. Though his time as a top-notch hitter proved fleeting, Molina has won eight Gold Gloves while serving as the starting catcher for eight playoff teams, including two World Series champions. His 89 postseason games played are the most ever for a franchise that has been a regular October participant for decades.
