Report: Forecasts of Heavy Rain in New York Could Alter NLCS, ALCS Schedules

ALCS, NLCS schedule may change due to heavy rain forecast

The American League and National League Championship Series schedules could be affected by heavy rain in New York on Wednesday, ESPN reported on Monday.

According to the outlet, Major League Baseball is considering moving a potential NLCS Game 5 between the Nationals and Cardinals to Wednesday night due to the possibility of the ALCS's Game 4 being washed out in New York that day.

The NLCS game is currently scheduled to start at 4:08 p.m. ET, but MLB would prefer it to be in primetime if it is the only game on Wednesday.

The Nationals lead the series 2–0 heading into Monday night's Game 3.

If the forecast holds, the Yankees and Astros would be rescheduled to play Games 4 and 5 on Thursday and Friday in New York.

MLB will likely announce any changes prior to Wednesday.
