The 2019 World Series champion will be decided on Wednesday night at Minute Maid Park in Houston when the Astros face the Washington Nationals in Game 7.

The Astros are looking for their second title in three years. In 2017, they defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in seven games to win their first championship in franchise history.

There have been 39 Game 7's played in Major League Baseball history. Visiting teams have a slight edge in the all-time head-to-head record with 20 victories and 19 losses. The road team has won the last three World Series Game 7.

The Nationals got out to a 2–0 series lead before dropping Games 3 and 4. The Astros missed an opportunity to close out the series with a 7–2 loss in Game 6 on Tuesday night. Stephen Strasburg pitched 8 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts, two walks, five hits and just two earned runs. 

The road team has won every game in this World Series entering Wednesday's Game 7.
