Angels News: Shohei Ohtani Brings Home Pair of Honors to End June

Shohei Ohtani's stellar year continues as he has won another pair of awards that honors his last 30 days.

The Angels All-Star was selected as the American League's Player of the Week and Player of the Month for his outstanding performance throughout the month of June.

Ohtani shared the weekly award with Yankees Pitcher, Domingo German, who threw a perfect game, the 24th feat of all time.

In the last week of June, Ohtani was putting on the same show he puts on week in and week out, hitting 10 for 24, .417 Batting Average, 1.783 OPS, and six Home Runs alongside seven RBIs.

The six homers in a week were just a handful out of the 15 he's hit all month long. He's also the first player in MLB history to have at least 25 extra-base hits, 20 walks and 15 home runs in a single month.

Ohtani capped off his June with a 493-foot homer against the Diamondbacks, making it the farthest homer someone has hit all season.

On the mound, Ohtani has pitched in 10 starts, holding a 3.07 ERA while striking out 127 batters in 95.1 innings.

With Shohei Ohtani on the mound or at the plate, it seems like a historic feat being broken is pretty likely to happen.

The man whose signature teams are fighting for seems to be the most powerful ballplayer in the Majors right now, and there's no sight of him slowing down any time soon.
