Angels Score: Ohtani & O'Hoppe Lead LA, Final Win in Mariners Series

In this story:
Any game that Shohei Ohtani takes the pitching mound is very special and highly-anticipated. His play helped lead the Los Angeles to a 4-3 win over the Seattle Mariners and their first season series is now concluded.
Ohtani went for six innings and saw another high strikeout rate with eight in total for the match. He also only allowed three hits and one run during that time and gave the bullpen plenty of room to work with for the rest of the game.
However, that first run that he gave up did come early at the bottom of the first inning. Eugenio Suarez looked to get hot early as he connected on a single that brought Julio Rodriguez home.
The Mariners are on the board in the 1st inning vs. Shohei Ohtani.

Logan O'Hoppe... he really wants that Rookie of the Year, doesn't he? Not too long after his first home run of his short career, he hit yet another one and this time it brought Gio Urshela around the bases with him.
Urshela got lucky again in the seventh inning when a Mike Trout single allowed him to score once again.

But everybody has come to know that whenever Trout sees some success at the plate, Ohtani has to match it. Immediately after Trout's RBI, the starting pitcher for today hit his own single to bring Taylor Ward to home plate.

The Mariners weren't going to go down without a fight though. They made a rally near the end of the game to come within just one run of tying the Angels.
A double from Ty France and a single from Suarez allowed Sam Haggerty to make make the score 4-3.

However, it was too little too late and LA was able to finish on top and improve their record to 4-2 on the season.
We will see them once again on Friday as they start a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays.
