Javier Shines as Houston Astros Dominate Blue Jays

In this story:
The Houston Astros (8-9) dominated the Toronto Blue Jays (10-7) in a 9-2 win on Monday night. It was a statement win of sorts as the Astros were searching for answers after a tough start to the season and a recent series loss to the Texas Rangers.
Starting pitcher Cristian Javier was awarded the win after pitching 5.0 innings of one-run baseball. Houston's bullpen then kept things tidy with allowing just one more run to score, a Matt Chapman home run off of Seth Martinez.
The offense looked great from the jump, with Jose Abreu getting things started in the first inning with an RBI-double that made it 2-0. Corey Julks, who had a career game, also doubled in the first to score two more making it 4-0.
Jake Meyers then launched a solo shot to wrap up a five run first inning.
Julks continued to stay hot in the third with three-run moonshot that travelled 424 feet to make it an 8-0 ballgame.
Houston's final run came on a Mauricio Dubon sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning to bring their total to nine runs.
It was an all around excellent team performance with the pitching staff keeping a very talented and powerful Blue Jays lineup in check, while the offense got to Toronto ace Kevin Gausman.
Houston looked like the reigning World Series champions on Monday night and will play again on Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. CT at Minute Maid Park.
