The Houston Astros (2-2) dropped their second game of the season as the Chicago White Sox were able to even the series on Sunday. The White Sox, a legitimate contender in the American League this season, posed a tough opponent for the reigning World Series champions on Opening Weekend.

The first four innings were relatively uneventful as neither team was able to plate a run. However, the White Sox gained momentum in the fifth when Luis Robert Jr. hit a solo home run to left field to give Chicago a lead they would never relinquish.

The White Sox added two more in the sixth with an Andrew Vaughn RBI-single and an Oscar Colas RBI-double to make it 3-0.

Houston showed some fight in the sixth when they plated a run off of a Gregory Santos wild pitch that allowed Chas McCormick to score.

Chicago added another in the eighth when Tim Anderson recorded an RBI-double and then two more in the ninth with a Yoan Mocada two-run home run to make it 6-1.

It was a deep hole to try and dig out of, but the Astros showed fight in the bottom of the ninth. First baseman José Abreu and David Hensley both registered RBI-singles to make it 6-3, but that would be it for the evening.

Houston fell to 2-2 and will have an off day Monday before hosting the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night at 7:10 p.m. CT at Minute Maid Park.
