Hopefully without jinxing anything, it appears the Houston Astros (6-7) are back on track after dominating the Pittsburgh Pirates (7-5) on Wednesday and taking the series.

Starter Jose Urquidy got back on track pitching 6.0 scoreless innings while giving up just two of the three hits on the afternoon.

Corey Julks smashed a home run in the fourth inning to make it 2-0, his first of the season. Seeing power from him is encouraging for this offense and perhaps it is an indicator of more to come.

Perhaps the most encouraging performance of the afternoon was third baseman Alex Bregman. After entering the series with a .411 OPS, Bregman has broken out. He hit his second home run in as many games, this time a three-run shot in seventh to put the game out of reach at 5-0.

Houston's bullpen then put the game away as they gave up just a single hit in three innings.

The Astros will try and ride this series win into the weekend when they will host the Texas Rangers for a three-game series at Minute Maid Park.
