The Houston Astros dropped their Opening Day matchup with the Chicago White Sox on Thursday 3-2. It was a true pitcher's duel as Framber Valdez and Dylan Cease combined for 11.1 innings pitched and just one earned run between the two. They also had a combined 14 strikeouts.

It was a fantastic matchup and one that the fans deserved to see on Opening Day. Unfortunately, a late rally in the ninth inning and a Yordan Álvarez 442-foot shot to right field was not enough to complete the comeback.

While most of the league will be taking a day off on Friday, the Astros will be hosting the White Sox.

First pitch is slated for 7:10 p.m. CT and Cristian Javier will take the mound for the Astros. Lance Lynn will be facing him for Chicago.

The game will be televised live on AT&T SportsNet Southwest. If you do not live in either the Houston or Chicago market you can stream the game live on MLB.tv.

We will update you once the Houston Astros have released their lineup.
