Houston Astros Prospects Round Up: May 14

As the week rolls to a close, it's time to once again take a closer look at how Houston's top-30 prospects are fairing in the Astros farm system.
We'll begin with the prospects in Triple-A, and we'll take an in-depth look at the players from Sugar Land all the way down to the Single-A team in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Triple-A (Sugar Land Space Cowboys)
The Space Cowboys own a 16-21 record in 2023 and host El Paso (16-22) on Sunday, May 14.
C Korey Lee (No. 5 prospect): slashing .313/.358/.461 this season with eight doubles, one triple, three home runs, 21 RBI and two stolen bases.
OF/2B Pedro Leon (No. 6 prospect): slashing .260/.333/.431 this season with seven doubles, one triple, four home runs, 17 RBI and four stolen bases.
OF Justin Dirden (No. 7 prospect): slashing .264/.346/.521 this season with seven doubles, three triples, six home runs, 22 RBI and two stolen bases.
RHP Misael Tamarez (No. 11 prospect): 0-0 record this season with a 4.26 ERA (12.2 innings pitched), eight strikeouts, 18 walks and a 1.97 WHIP.
3B/OF Joe Perez (No. 14 prospect): slashing .242/.299/.371 this season with seven doubles, three home runs, 19 RBI and one stolen base.
RHP Forrest Whitley (No. 19 prospect): 1-2 record this season with a 5.40 ERA (25.0 innings pitched), 26 strikeouts, 11 walks and a 1.12 WHIP.
RHP Shawn Dubin (No. 23 prospect): 0-1 record this season with a 6.27 ERA (18.2 innings pitched), 18 strikeouts, 12 walks and a 1.45 WHIP.
Double-A (Corpus Christi Hooks)
The Hooks own a 12-20 record in 2023 and play at San Antonio (16-16) on Sunday, May 14.
OF Drew Gilbert (No. 1 prospect): slashing .300/.333/.450 this season with three doubles and four RBI (through six games since being called up from High-A).
OF Colin Barber (No. 3 prospect): slashing .292/.420/.486 this season with five doubles, three home runs, 14 RBI and one stolen base.
LHP Colton Gordon (No. 8 prospect): 2-3 record this season with a 5.40 ERA (28.1 innings pitched), 36 strikeouts, 12 walks and a 1.34 WHIP.
RHP Spencer Arrighetti (No. 9 prospect): 2-2 record this season with a 6.93 ERA (24.2 innings pitched), 23 strikeouts, 11 walks and a 1.54 WHIP.
INF Will Wagner (No. 12 prospect): slashing .326/.434/.558 this season with four doubles, two home runs and eight RBI.
RHP Jaime Melendez (No. 13 prospect): 2-0 record this season with a 5.59 ERA (9.2 innings pitched), eight strikeouts, seven walks and a 1.55 WHIP.
OF/1B/2B Joey Loperfido (No. 16 prospect): slashing .306/.457/.565 this season with four doubles, four home runs, 18 RBI and six stolen bases (through 18 games since being called up from High-A).
OF Kenedy Corona (No. 18 prospect): slashing .235/.282/.447 this season with four doubles, one triple, four home runs, 11 RBI and seven stolen bases (through 22 games since being called up from High-A).
OF Quincy Hamilton (No. 22 prospect): slashing .263/.390/.394 this season with 10 doubles, one home run, 13 RBI and four stolen bases.
OF Zach Daniels (No. 30 prospect): slashing .385/.385/.538 this season with two doubles, one RBI and one stolen base (has only played in four games this year).
High-A (Asheville Tourists)
The Tourists own a 11-19 record in 2023 and play at Rome (15-16) on Sunday, May 14.
OF Jacob Melton (No. 2 prospect): slashing .237/.389/.434 this season with three doubles, four home runs, nine RBI and 12 stolen bases.
OF Ryan Clifford (No. 4 prospect): slashing .000/.167/.000 this season (through five games since being called up from Single-A). He was slashing .337/.488/.457 through 25 games in Single-A prior to get called up.
RHP Miguel Ullola (No. 10 prospect): 0-2 record this season with a 9.15 ERA (19.2 innings pitched), 21 strikeouts, 20 walks and a 2.08 WHIP.
OF Logan Cerny (No. 20 prospect): slashing .191/.270/.318 this season with two doubles, four home runs, 12 RBI and seven stolen bases.
RHP Edinson Batista (No. 24 prospect): 1-2 record this season with a 5.40 ERA (21.2 innings pitched), 24 strikeouts, six walks and a 1.25 WHIP.
C/1B Miguel Palma (No. 29 prospect): slashing .244/.313/.372 this season with five doubles, two home runs, 12 RBI and two stolen bases.
Single-A (Fayetteville Woodpeckers)
The Woodpeckers own a 13-18 record in 2023 and host Kannapolis (17-13) on Sunday, May 14.
RHP Andrew Taylor (No. 15 prospect): 1-2 record this season with a 4.43 ERA (22.1 innings pitched), 34 strikeouts, 10 walks and a 1.52 WHIP.
RHP Michael Knorr (No. 25 prospect): 2-2 record this season with a 4.07 ERA (24.1 innings pitched), 35 strikeouts, 12 walks and a 1.44 WHIP.
RHP Jose Fleury (No. 27 prospect): 0-1 record this season with a 3.28 ERA (24.2 innings pitched), 35 strikeouts, 16 walks and a 1.09 WHIP.
All four of the Astros farm teams are playing again on Sunday, giving Houston's prospects further opportunities to develop as the season rolls on.
