Houston Astros Prospects Round Up: May 4

It's the middle of the week, meaning it's once again time to take a quick glance at how the Houston Astros top-30 prospects are faring in the farm system.
We'll begin with the prospects in Triple-A, and we'll take a closer look at the players from Sugar Land all the way down to the Single-A team in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Triple-A (Sugar Land Space Cowboys)
The Space Cowboys own a 9-19 record in 2023 and play at Albuquerque (13-16) on Thursday, May 4.
C Korey Lee (No. 5 prospect): slashing .265/.321/.357 this season with four doubles, one triple, one home run, 14 RBI and one stolen base.
OF/2B Pedro Leon (No. 6 prospect): slashing .241/.326/.398 this season with five doubles, one triple, two home runs, 10 RBI and three stolen bases.
OF Justin Dirden (No. 7 prospect): slashing .181/.277/.277 this season with three doubles, one triple, one home run, four RBI and one stolen base.
RHP Misael Tamarez (No. 11 prospect): 0-0 record this season with a 4.26 ERA (12.2 innings pitched), eight strikeouts, 18 walks and a 1.97 WHIP.
3B/OF Joe Perez (No. 14 prospect): slashing .206/.267/.330 this season with six doubles, two home runs, 14 RBI and one stolen base.
RHP Forrest Whitley (No. 19 prospect): 1-2 record this season with a 6.00 ERA (21.0 innings pitched), 22 strikeouts, 10 walks and a 1.19 WHIP.
RHP Shawn Dubin (No. 23 prospect): 0-1 record this season with a 6.27 ERA (18.2 innings pitched), 18 strikeouts, 12 walks and a 1.45 WHIP.
Double-A (Corpus Christi Hooks)
The Hooks own a 8-14 record in 2023 and host Amarillo (12-11) on Thursday, May 4.
OF Colin Barber (No. 3 prospect): slashing .268/.406/.464 this season with five doubles, two home runs and 11 RBI.
LHP Colton Gordon (No. 8 prospect): 1-2 record this season with a 6.75 ERA (17.1 innings pitched), 23 strikeouts, eight walks and a 1.62 WHIP.
RHP Spencer Arrighetti (No. 9 prospect): 1-2 record this season with a 8.24 ERA (19.2 innings pitched), 18 strikeouts, nine walks and a 1.68 WHIP.
INF Will Wagner (No. 12 prospect): slashing .375/.444/.708 this season with two doubles, two home runs and six RBI.
RHP Jaime Melendez (No. 13 prospect): 2-0 record this season with a 5.59 ERA (9.2 innings pitched), eight strikeouts, seven walks and a 1.55 WHIP.
OF/1B/2B Joey Loperfido (No. 16 prospect): slashing .395/.510/.763 this season with two doubles, four home runs, 14 RBI and four stolen bases (through 10 games since being called up from High-A).
OF Kenedy Corona (No. 18 prospect): slashing .273/.305/.564 this season with two doubles, one triple, four home runs, nine RBI and two stolen bases (through 13 games since being called up from High-A).
OF Quincy Hamilton (No. 22 prospect): slashing .257/.379/.371 this season with eight doubles, nine RBI and four stolen bases.
OF Zach Daniels (No. 30 prospect): slashing .385/.385/.538 this season with two doubles, one RBI and one stolen base.
High-A (Asheville Tourists)
The Tourists own a 8-13 record in 2023 and host Greenville (9-13) on Thursday, May 4.
OF Drew Gilbert (No. 1 prospect): slashing .342/.407/.644 this season with five doubles, one triple, five home runs, 12 RBI and three stolen bases.
OF Jacob Melton (No. 2 prospect): slashing .205/.407/.409 this season with three doubles, two home runs, five RBI and six stolen bases.
RHP Miguel Ullola (No. 10 prospect): 0-1 record this season with a 7.24 ERA (13.2 innings pitched), 15 strikeouts, 13 walks and a 1.90 WHIP.
OF Logan Cerny (No. 20 prospect): slashing .164/.274/.315 this season with two doubles, three home runs, eight RBI and six stolen bases.
RHP Edinson Batista (No. 24 prospect): 0-2 record this season with a 6.59 ERA (13.2 innings pitched), 14 strikeouts, five walks and a 1.39 WHIP.
C/1B Miguel Palma (No. 29 prospect): slashing .258/.333/.435 this season with five doubles, two home runs, eight RBI and two stolen bases.
Single-A (Fayetteville Woodpeckers)
The Woodpeckers own a 9-13 record in 2023 and play at Salem (11-11) on Thursday, May 4.
OF Ryan Clifford (No. 4 prospect): slashing .329/.485/.474 this season with five doubles, two home runs, 15 RBI and three stolen bases.
RHP Andrew Taylor (No. 15 prospect): 1-1 record this season with a 3.68 ERA (14.2 innings pitched), 22 strikeouts, seven walks and a 1.23 WHIP.
RHP Michael Knorr (No. 25 prospect): 2-0 record this season with a 2.60 ERA (17.1 innings pitched), 24 strikeouts, seven walks and a 1.15 WHIP.
RHP Jose Fleury (No. 27 prospect): 0-0 record this season with a 1.89 ERA (19.0 innings pitched), 28 strikeouts, 12 walks and a 0.95 WHIP.
All four of the Astros farm teams are playing again on Thursday, giving Houston's prospects further opportunities to develop as the season rolls on.
