Team Venezuela saw Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve exit their World Baseball Classic Quarterfinal against Team USA with an apparent injury after being struck by a pitch on the hand and wrist area.

Altuve hit the ground in pain before being escorted off the field by Venezuela's medical staff. Team USA pitcher Daniel Bard is the one who hit Altuve after having zero command on the evening. 

During Bard's outing he recorded zero outs, gave up three walks, a single, hit Jose Altuve, and threw two wild pitches before USA manager Mark DeRosa mercifully pulled him from the game.

Not much is known on Altuve's injury or the extent of said injury. However, as more information becomes available we will update you here.
