In this story:

Wednesday was a big day for injury news out of the Houston Astros camp as General Manager Dana Brown gave an update on three of the team's biggest stars.

First up is Jose Altuve who broke his hand against Team USA in the World Baseball Classic. Brown announced that Altuve had successfully undergone surgery and would be able to resume baseball activities in about two months.

His timeline to return to the lineup will be given at a later date as he progresses through his recovery. He will need time to ramp up before he takes to the field.

Next up is Hunter Brown who was scratched from his start on Wednesday. We wrote about the scratch earlier today but was given an update by Brown. He said that the pitcher experienced some back tightness while doing agility exercises yesterday.

He is day-to-day and Houston will continue to monitor his progress.

Finally, Tucker is suffering from a sore ankle after fouling a pitch off of it during Team USA's game against Venezuela. Brown said he suffered a 'mild ankle sprain' but he is expected to be fine.

Overall, it seems the injury news isn't too concerning in long-term effect to the team. Altuve's news is certainly a blow, but not unexpected based off of the reporting over the last week. At least there is a tentative timeline now following his successful surgery.
