In Case You Missed It: Brown, Álvarez and Houston Astros Offense

In this story:
In this weekend's edition of 'In Case You Missed It,' we will look back at the week that was and the week ahead for the Houston Astros.
And it's been quite a stretch for Houston, as the Astros started the week with a 6-8 record entering last Saturday's showdown with the Texas Rangers prior to winning four of the last six games.
Hunter Brown went 7.0 scoreless innings last Saturday against the Rangers to get the ball rolling in the right direction and he pitched again on Friday in Atlanta.
Although Brown struggled early against the Atlanta Braves, he still went 4.2 innings and righted the ship after giving up four runs in the first inning.
After falling behind 4-1 early, the Astros bounced back to tie the game at 4-4 in the seventh inning on an RBI-double by Yainer Diaz, an RBI-single by Jake Meyers and an RBI-double by Maricio Dubon.
Friday night's win was particularly spectacular, as All Star outfielder and designated hitter Yordan Álvarez delivered again with a big hit -- this time a two-run moon blast to give the Astros the lead for good in the top of the ninth inning as Houston went on to defeat the Braves on the road.
With Friday's road win, the Astros are now 10-10 -- giving Houston a .500 record for the first time since the team was 2-2 on April 2.
The road ahead doesn't get any easier for Houston either, as the Astros continue a long road stretch with two more games in Atlanta prior to a three-game series in Tampa Bay against the Rays.
Houston finally returns to Minute Maid Park when the Astros host the Philadelphia Phillies starting on Friday, April 28.
In the meantime, the Astros are 4-2 over the last six games and have won three of their last four matchups.
They aim to make it three wins in a row when Houston returns to the diamond to face Atlanta on Saturday, April 22 at 6:20 p.m. CT.
Southpaw Framber Valdez (1-2, 1.80 ERA) takes the mound for Houston as Atlanta counters with right-hander Kyle Wright (0-0, 6.23 ERA).
