In this story:

Baseball is a tough sport to follow sometimes. Lots of players come, even more go, and sometimes they stick around only for a few months, or even days. Losing some is tough, some you may not even know left, and then there is Yuli Gurriel for Houston Astros fans.

Gurriel become an instant fan favorite with his signature hair style, his tenacious play, his clubhouse presence, and the fact he was there for both World Series runs.

On Thursday, Gurriel signed with the Miami Marlins. It was a tough blow to the Houston fanbase as they held their breath hoping for a reunion all winter. Instead, the team pivoted to first baseman Jose Abreu, almost sealing Gurriel's fate of no return.

Astros fans have seen a lot of players depart in recent years, but Gurriel's departure from Houston seems to have hurt the most.

Astros social media is awash in reactions to his departure. Here are some of the ones that stood out.
