Blue Jays Rookie Brett Bateman Has Already Joined Rare Franchise Company

In this story:
It is somewhat hard to fathom that Brett Batman hadn't seen a major league field until just after the trade deadline, when the Toronto Blue Jays stole him from the Chicago Cubs. Ross Atkins was looking for a long-term center field solution, and it appears he has found it.
Now, had Bateman been playing for any other organization besides the Cubs, he likely would have made his way to the big leagues. But he was blocked in the minors, as the National League MVP frontrunner Pete Crow-Armstrong is the best center in the game.
That being said, Chicago's loss is Toronto's gain, and it might be too small a sample to get overly excited, but Bateman's plate discipline, speed, as well as his defense, are hard not to get excited about, especially since he now ranks amongst the best through his first 12 games with the ballclub.
Most Hits Through First 12 Games as a Blue Jay in Franchise History

Friday night was the 12th game of Bateman's career, and he made a splash against Cam Schlittler no less as he came one hit shy of the cycle after posting a single, double, and a triple against one of the best pitching staffs in the game.
After a beautiful outing against the Yanks, he logged his 16th hit since his call-up, which puts him in some pretty elite company highlighted by their star infielder, Bo Bichette.

Bateman kept the merriment going Saturday afternoon, facing Ryan Weathers as he won an 8-pitch at-bat to kick things off as the only entrusted lefty in the lineup against the left-hander on the bump, followed by another single his next time up.
The young stud is continuing to make his mark and provide an offensive spark that the team is in desperate need of as plenty of rookies continue to make their mark for this ballclub.
Other Rookies Stepping Up Big for Jays
Had the rookies not stepped up for the Blue Jays this year, it is hard to think where this team would be. Especially as of late, the first-years are coming up and producing both at the plate and on the bump.

Charles McAdoo is taking full advantage of his recent call-up, hitting over .300 in the last 10 days or so to complement Bateman, as well as Brandon Valenzuela finding his confidence at the plate again.
Then, there isn't enough time in the day or space on a page to explain how elite Spencer Miles has been on the hill as he is posting a sub-2.00 ERA in relief appearances and is constantly entrusted in high-leverage situations.
It is safe to say that the Jays' organization is in safe hands moving forward and has plenty to be pumped about with their rookies.
