In this story:

There's no better way to start the weekend than by cashing in on a home run bet, so that's what we're going to try to do tonight. With all 30 teams set to play today, we have plenty of options across the Majors. As we always do, I'm going to give you my three favorite bets to hit a home run for today's edition of Daily Dinger.

Best MLB Home Run Bets Today

Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook

  • Pete Alonso Home Run (+327)
  • Corbin Carroll Home Run (+499)
  • Josh Naylor Home Run (+920)

Pete Alonso Home Run (+327)

Freddy Peralta gets the start for the Tampa Bay Rays tonight, and he has struggled giving up home runs this season, allowing 1.5 home runs per nine innings pitched. He has allowed three in just 14.1 innings pitched since joining the Rays at the trade deadline. To try to take advantage of that, I'm going to bet on the Orioles' top power bat to hit a home run at +327. He has hit two home runs in his last four games.

Corbin Carroll Home Run (+499)

Nick Lodolo is another pitcher who has struggled to give up home runs this season. The Reds' pitcher has given up 12 home runs in 14 starts for 1.5 home runs per nine innings pitched. With him being a lefty, we're going to bet on the Diamondbacks' top lefty bat, Corbin Carroll. He has a batting average of .327 and a slugging percentage of .565 when facing left-handed pitchers this season.

Josh Naylor Home Run (+920)

Josh Naylor is one of the few bats in the Mariners' lineup that have been good against left-handed pitchers, so I love him as a longshot tonight at +920 against Matthew Boyd of the Chicago Cubs. Boyd has allowed 1.4 home runs per nine innings pitched, and even if Naylor doesn't hit a home run off him, the Cubs will eventually turn to their bullpen that has had major issues allowing home runs this season. The Chicago bullpen has given up 1.96 home runs per nine innings pitched, the worst mark amongst all Major League teams.
