Watch: GM Atkins says Alek Manoah has been 'Exceptionally Encouraging'

Blue Jays pitching prospect Alek Manoah hasn't allowed a run in his first two Triple-A starts

Toronto Blue Jays General Manager met with the media Sunday and discussed the state of his team so far this season. Top prospect Alek Manoah has been checking boxes, Atkins said, and his progress has been "exceptionally encouraging."

Two starts into his Triple-A career, Manoah is striking out 12.8 batters per nine, walking just 1.5, and has yet to allow a run. Earlier this week, Toronto Manager Charlie Montoyo said Manoah was "doing what it takes" to earn a big league call up.
