NL East Power Rankings: The Braves stay atop our NL East power rankings

The Braves are still separated from the bunch by a handful of games, but the Mets are beginning to get hot.
The Miami Marlins have gotten their record over .500 and are also playing some good baseball.
The NL East race isn't tight yet, but it could get there sooner than later if the water continues to boil for these ball clubs.
Let's take a look at our NL East power rankings as we near fifty games played in the 2023 season.
5. Washington Nationals
Record: 20-27
Current/Upcoming Series: San Diego Padres
Previous Rank: 5
Early Season Recap: The Nationals have been right around five hundred all year, but they will not be anywhere in the division race after the All-Star break. The Nationals have a lot of rebuilding to do over these next few years.
Who has Played Well: Joey Meneses has been playing good baseball of late, climbing his average up to .296. The right-handed designated hitter has been a bright spot on an awful Nats team.
4. Philadelphia Phillies
Record: 22-24
Current/Upcoming Series: Arizona Diamondbacks
Previous Rank: 2
Early Season Recap: The Phillies had a rough week, only winning two ball games, and went back two games under .500. I still fully expect this ball club to go on a run now that Bryce Harper has gotten back into the swing of things.
Who has Played Well: Nick Castellanos still has his average over .300 at .303 and has found his swing over the last few weeks. The Phillies spent a ton of money on the right-handed slugger, so they have to love what they are seeing out of him.
3. Miami Marlins
Record: 24-23
Current/Upcoming Series: Colorado Rockies
Previous Rank: 4
Early Season Recap: The Marlins had a great week going 4-2 and getting their record one game over .500. This moved the fish ahead of the Phillies in this week's power rankings. If Sandy Alcantara could figure things out, this ball club could make a run.
Who has Played Well: Luis Arraez's batting average stayed the same over the course of these past six games as he is still hitting .382. The left-handed second baseman is in the NL MVP conversation right there with Ronald Acuña Jr.
2. New York Mets
Record: 25-23
Current/Upcoming Series: Chicago Cubs
Previous Rank: 3
Early Season Recap: The Mets had a good week going 5-2 giving them a 25-23 record on the season. The team from New York is clawing right back in the fight for the NL East and could make a big run at the Braves. If the Mets get hot, this will be a fun race to watch.
Who has Played Well: Tylor Megill has had a good year on the bump this far, going 5-2 with a 3.88 ERA. The six-foot-seven right-handed pitcher has been a big part of this Mets team heating up over these last few weeks.
1. Atlanta Braves
Record: 29-17
Previous Rank: 1
Current/Upcoming Series: Los Angeles Dodgers
Early Season Recap: The Braves bounced back nicely from the sweep at the hands of the Blue Jays. They went 4-2 this week with series victories over the Texas Rangers and the Seattle Mariners. Both of these are exceptional ball clubs. The Braves have a big series coming up with the Dodgers that they need to win to keep the momentum in the division.
Who has Played Well: Ronald Acuña Jr. continued his blazing hot start to the season as his batting average is still sitting at .344. The speedy slugger is atop the betting odds to win the NL MVP and is putting up video game numbers. It's a joy to watch Acuña Jr. play baseball, as he is truly a freak of nature.
