Braves Briefing: Austin Riley joins an exciting group of Atlanta players

On Saturday night, Austin Riley showcased some timely hitting by driving in Ronald Acuña from third base with a sacrifice fly, earning him his 30th RBI of the season.
Remarkably, he joins an elite group within the Atlanta Braves lineup, becoming the fifth member to achieve this milestone thus far in the season. This feat demonstrates the potent offensive capabilities of the Braves. It is a testament to the team's potential when every player performs at their best at the same time. Let's take a look at the members of Atlanta's esteemed 30 RBI club:
- Matt Olson: Leads the pack with an impressive 42 RBIs.
- Sean Murphy: Following closely behind, he has contributed 38 RBIs.
- Ozzie Albies: Adds his name to the list with an impressive total of 36 RBIs.
- Ronald Acuña: Another key player in the Braves' offensive arsenal, he has already amassed 32 RBIs.
- Austin Riley: Completing the quintet, Riley's latest accomplishment brings his total RBIs to 30, solidifying his place among the Braves' most impactful hitters.

We wrote it
I handled our coverage at Braves Today yesterday. I wrote about Spencer Strider's impressive start in yesterday's takeaways.
Another start, another seven strikeouts for the ace. He's done that in all 12 starts this year. Strider leads all of baseball with 113 strikeouts over 69.2 innings pitched.
He leads Kevin Gausman who has 100 strikeouts and has thrown for 75.0 innings this season. They're the only two pitchers with 100 strikeouts or more in 2023.
Strider gave up three hits and two earned runs Saturday night.
With Max Fried and Kyle Wright still waiting to return from the IL, every start from Strider becomes more important. Atlanta got a great outing and a win out of this one Saturday night.
Check out the full list of takeaways from Saturday's action.
