Braves Briefing: Should Atlanta bring back Joc Pederson?

With the trade deadline approaching, a familiar name for the Atlanta Braves keeps popping up.
With his memorable performance during the 2021 championship season, Pederson holds a special place in the hearts of the Atlanta faithful. Having played a crucial role in leading the Braves to their first World Series in decades, bringing back this fan favorite, who is currently on a rental contract, could be a smart move for Atlanta's aspirations of another successful run.
Although Pederson hasn't been at his usual best this season, it is worth noting that he was an All-Star just a year ago. With the Giants looking to sell, Pederson can likely be acquired at a reasonable price. A return to familiar territory and a winning environment may just be what Pederson needs to rejuvenate his performance. At the very least, he would provide an upgrade over the current left-field options that the Braves have been fielding.
Joc Pederson's potential return to the Atlanta Braves would not only reignite the passion of the team's fans but also address the team's current shortcomings in the outfield. Despite his recent struggles, Pederson's proven track record and affordable contract make him an attractive option for the Braves as they seek to make another playoff run. The combination of defensive versatility and power he brings to the table aligns perfectly with Atlanta's needs. With the added benefit of maintaining options at designated hitter, the acquisition of Pederson could prove to be a valuable move for the Braves in their quest for postseason success.

We wrote it
Braves Today's Lindsay Crosby wrote about Michael Soroka being sent down to Triple-A.
Soroka's story is incredible - making it back to the major leagues after two torn Achilles in a span of two years is incredible, and no one will take that moment away from him.
But now the goal is to return to the effectiveness that we know is in there, and Soroka's got some more work to do. In his two starts this season - last week against the Oakland Athletics and yesterday against the Arizona Diamondbacks - Soroka is 0-1 with a 8.38 ERA in nine and two-thirds innings of work, striking out five and walking six.
