Four is a streak.

Atlanta's tied with the Tigers and White Sox for second-longest active losing streak in MLB at four games (the Reds have lost six straight). The Braves look to break the skid with a home matchup against the Miami Marlins, who sit at 12-10 and have put up good fights against quality teams this season. Miami's won series against the Guardians, Giants, Diamondbacks, Phillies and Twins on the season on the strength of quality starting pitching and a resurgent bullpen.

Lineup

Here's how Atlanta will line up for the contest:

This one's going to ruffle some feathers. Marcell Ozuna, currently batting .078/.190/.216, is the DH with Eddie Rosario in left field. Additionally, Vaughn Grissom, who committed two defensive errors on Saturday and now has three in only 80 innings at shortstop, gets the day off with veteraan Ehire Adrianza starting at shortstop and batting 9th.

Pitching matchup

Starting for the Braves is the studly Spencer Strider. The Braves righty is 2-0 on the season with a 2.45 ERA, striking out 36 in his 22 innings of work. He's faced Miami twice in his career, going 0-1 in two relief appearances, both early in the 2022 season.

Opposing Strider is Edward Cabrera. The Marlins righty is 1-1 on the season with a 4.08 ERA and eighteen strikeouts in his 17.2 innings on the season. He's made two career starts against Atlanta, pitching to a 3.12 ERA with no decisions. Both starts have been in September, one in 2021 and one in 2022, and he combined for 8.2 innings with seven hits, three runs, and eleven strikeouts to six walks.

How to watch

First pitch for tonight's series opener is scheduled for 7:20 ET and is being broadcast by Bally Sports South. The radio call, with Ben Ingram, is available locally on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan or outside the Atlanta market on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network or MLB.com.
