Coming off of a series-tying win by the Padres on Apple TV+'s Friday Night Baseball, the Atlanta Braves send Charlie Morton to the mound looking to secure at least a tied series with a win on Saturday.

Here's how the Braves will line up for the contest:

Atlanta keeps the hot-swinging Travis d'Arnaud in the lineup, batting cleanup, while Eddie Rosario mans left field and Marcell Ozuna returns to the DH spot. Sam Hilliard, not newly-recalled Eli White, reprises his role as Michael Harris's injury replacement in centerfield, and bats 9th.

Starting for the Braves is veteran righty Charlie Morton. Fresh off of an...okay start against the Cardinals, which saw him give up nine hits and two walks in 5.1 innings but only allowing three to score, Morton's definitely looking to improve back into the steady and reliable veteran pitcher that Atlanta needs him to be while they're waiting for Wright and Fried to return from their respective injuries.

Morton is 0-1 against the Padres since he returned to Atlanta, seeing them twice last year. The first outing, on April 14th of 2022, was five innings of nine hits and five run ball with three walks and five strikeouts, a game that San Diego ran away with in a 12-1 victory. Morton had one of his best performances of the season in the sequel, on May 14th, as he pitched six innings with only two hits and one run allowed, with one walk to nine strikeouts as Atlanta squeaked out an 6-5 victory after San Diego scored four runs in the 8th to take the lead and Atlanta responded with four of their own.

Opposing the Braves on the mound is Padres pitcher Michael Wacha. A 10-year veteran, the 31 year-old has faced Atlanta eight times in his career, mostly with the Cardinals. He's 0-4 with a lifetime 5.23 ERA against Atlanta, although his most recent appearances have been even worse, somehow: four innings pitched with seven hits and five runs as a member of the Mets in August 2020, and four innings pitched with five hits and four runs as a member of the Rays in July 2021. He walked two and struck out five in both outings.

Several Braves have had success in their limited samples against Wacha, including Austin Riley with two homeruns in four career at-bats and Travis d'Arnaud with one home run in three at-bats.

How to Watch

First pitch is tonight at 7:20 ET. The game broadcast, with Voice of the Braves Brandon Gaudin, is available inside Braves Country on Bally Sports Southeast, and is available on MLB.TV outside of the broadcast area. The radio call with Ben Ingram is available locally on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan or outside the Atlanta market on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network or MLB.com.
