Lineup, how to watch the Atlanta Braves and Tampa Bay Rays on Friday night

If Atlanta's Charlie Morton beats his old team, but no one saw it on Apple TV+, does it still count?

The Atlanta Braves are taking their ten-series win streak into St. Petersburg this weekend with a three game set against the Tampa Bay Rays. Former Rays pitcher Charlie Morton gets the ball tonight, and he'll be looking to get one over on his old team. Tonight's game is on Apple TV+, so not the easiest to watch, but those of you that have Apple TV are in for a treat: it'll sync the radio call, so you can listen to Ben Ingram call tonight's game from Tropicana Field.

Lineup for the Atlanta Braves on Friday, July 7th

Here's how the Braves will line up for the contest:

It's the usual suspects for Atlanta, with this righty-heavy rotation for Tampa meaning Eddie Rosario gets a nice run of starts to close out the first half of the season. He's playing left field and batting 7th, with DH Marcell Ozuna one spot ahead of him in the lineup. All-Star starter Sean Murphy takes his place behind the dish, batting 5th.

Pitching Matchup for the Atlanta Braves and Tampa Bay Rays on Friday, July 7th

As we mentioned earlier, starting for the Braves is Charlie Morton. The righty is 8-6 in his 16 starts on the season, with a 3.57 ERA. He's struck out 105 in 90.2 innings, and is still spinning the curveball as good as ever. He's not faced the Rays this season, but his one appearance in his career since leaving Tampa for the 2021 season was a quality start. On July 16th, 2021, he went six innings with six hits, three runs, and three walks to eight strikeouts. Only five members of the existing Rays roster even have at-bats against him, with only infielder Taylor Walls (1-2) and OF Manny Margot (1-3) collecting hits.

Opposing Atlanta is righthander Tyler Glasnow. The supremely talented pitcher is a year and a half removed from his Tommy John Surgery, but is still trying to recapture his pre-injury form. He's 2-2 in seven starts this season, putting up a 4.50 ERA in 36 innings, with 56 strikeouts to 15 walks. Despite nine Braves having faced him in their careers, only two even have hits off of Glasnow, with former AL East foe Kevin Pillar going 1-12 and Marcell Ozuna going 2-5.

MLB doesn't make it easy, do they? This weekend's three games will be on three different networks, with this one being the hardest since it's on a paid service, Apple TV+. For those that have it, the first pitch is scheduled for 6:40 PM ET (and you can choose the radio broadcast's audio in the settings, too). The radio call, with Ben Ingram, is available locally on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan or outside the Atlanta market on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network or MLB.com.
