In this story:

The Chicago Cubs are losing ground on the Milwaukee Brewers in the race for the National League Central crown.

The Cubs’ 3-2, 10-inning loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks was the Cubs’ (76-67) third straight loss to the D-Backs (75-68). The Cubs are now four games back of the Brewers (79-62), who beat the New York Yankees for the second straight game.

With their hopes of winning the division taking a dent, the Cubs are still inside the Wild Card race, but they’re dropping the edge there too, in part because it’s the Diamondbacks that are right behind them.

Philadelphia, Cincinnati and Miami were also in action on Saturday, with Philly and Miami facing each other. All three are in the Wild Card hunt, with the Phillies in the top spot.

Below is an update on the race, with the current standings, magic numbers to clinch the NL Central and a Wild Card berth, along with the remaining schedules for the teams that are still in the race.
