Diamondbacks vs. Brewers Canceled Due to Inclement Weather

Rain in the Phoenix area has resulted in today's game being canceled.

The Diamondbacks were scheduled to play the Milwaukee Brewers in Maryvale today, but that game has been canceled due to inclement weather. It had been raining in the Phoenix area for much of the day. Right-hander Brandon Pfaadt and a bunch of pitchers competing for a spot in the bullpen were set to pitch today. It will be interesting to see how the D-backs get Pfaadt back on schedule to start March 31st. On Wednesday, manager Torey Lovullo said the team could not afford any setbacks as they stretch him, Zac Gallen, and Merrill Kelly out for the season.

Steve Gilbert of MLB.com is reporting that Pfaadt will pitch a minor league game tomorrow with rotation hopeful Ryne Nelson starting the game against the Rangers in Surprise.

The Diamondbacks continue to get ready for Opening Day. The split-squad games on Sunday will help them catch up and get on schedule. Given the tight schedule, Gallen will appear in one of the two games.
