Diamondbacks Minor League Report 4/11/2023

The Diamondbacks minor league affiliates combined for a 1-3 record
Triple-A: Reno Aces 4 vs. Sacramento River Cats 14; 3-6
Slade Cecconi (No. 8) threw five innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits, one walk, and four strikeouts. He threw 78 pitches, 58 for strikes. Fastball velocity was 89.5-96.7 MPH, his slider generated a 53% whiff rate (9/17), and landed some curveballs for called strikes. Cecconi also committed a fielding error that led to an unearned run.
Blaze Alexander (No. 17) went 2-for-3 with a double, walk, and a run scored.
Jorge Barrosa (No. 24) made his season debut and had an RBI single and scored a run in four at-bats.
Buddy Kennedy was hitless in three at-bats, but drew a pair of walks.
Diego Castillo went 1-for-4, pushing his hitting streak to nine games.
Justin Martinez (No. 28) struggled in the eighth inning, allowing a hit, walked four, and struck out two. Three of the four runs he allowed scored after leaving the game. It's been an especially difficult start for Martinez in the PCL. In four games, four innings of work he's allowed 10 runs on seven walks and seven hits, including two homers.
Double-A: Amarillo Sod Poodles 4, Corpus Christi Hooks 5; 2-2
Ryan Bliss (No. 25) was 1-for-4
Jordan Lawlar (No. 3) drew a walk in the ninth inning and scored.
Caleb Roberts had two hits, including a two-run, opposite field home run in the ninth inning.

Deyvison De Los Santos (No. 12) went 1-for-4. His single was hit 108 MPH on a line drive to right-center and was robbed of an RBI single in his second at-bat on a grounder hit 100 MPH.
A.J. Vukovich (No. 13) walked and hit a solo home run that barely cleared the short fence in right field.

Tim Tawa (No. 26) was 1-for-3, including a fifth inning sacrifice fly that put the Sod Poodles on the board.
Adrian Del Castillo was 0-for-4
High-A: Hillsboro Hops 4, Everett AquaSox 3; 3-1
Yilber Diaz allowed one run on four, hits, three walks, and four strikeouts in 3.1 innings. He threw 37 of 70 pitches for a strike.
Wilderd Patino (No. 18) had a bunt single and a walk in four trips to the plate.
Low-A: Visalia Rawhide 5, Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 8; 0-4
Druw Jones (No. 4) drew a pair of walks and drove in a run on a fielder's choice play at home plate in the fifth inning.
Andrew Pintar (No. 30) had two hits.
Gavin Conticello had Visalia's only extra base hit, a double in the fifth.
Alvin Guzman was 1-for-4 with a run scored, but struck out three times.
