Bliss was one of three prospects that improved their stock the most in April, joining right-handed pitchers Bryce Jarvis and Dylan Ray. He has started 21 games, batting leadoff in all of them. He projects to be a strong defender at second base, while his right-handed bat has been developing along nicely. Depending on how much the bat develops, he could be a solid everyday second baseman that could win a handful of Gold Gloves.
Another minor league infielder, Phillip Evans, won the Pacific Coast League Player of the month. Evans was a minor league signing by the D-backs after stints with the Mets, Cubs, Pirates, and Yankees organization. He hit .455/.576/.610 with Triple-A Reno with six doubles and two home runs in April.
