The 5 Former Dodgers Set to Play in the 2023 World Series

Some old Boys in Blue now on the biggest stage.

The 2023 World Series is now set as the Texas Rangers prepare to play the Arizona Diamondbacks to determine this year's MLB champion.

Several former Dodgers will play some key roles on one of these rosters as five former LA players hope to finish the job for Texas' first World Series in franchise history.

Corey Seager

The most prominent among these old friends is Corey Seager who had a career season in his second year in Arlington.

Likely the runner-up for the AL MVP this year, Seager is following up his postseason heroics from LA's 2020 run back in the same ballpark where he won World Series MVP.

Nathan Eovaldi

Nathan Eovaldi didn't quite have time to figure it out as a Dodger pitching prospect but he's turned into Texas' most reliable starter this postseason.

The hard-throwing righty who was the key piece of the trade that brought Hanley Ramirez to LA in 2012 already has a World Series title under his belt, helping defeat the Dodgers with the Red Sox back in 2018. Now he, like Seager, is going for ring number two.

Max Scherzer

Several Dodger fans groan upon hearing Max Scherzer's name after his reluctance to pitch in the 2021 NLCS doomed LA to an early playoff exit.

The veteran also searches for his second ring after a midseason trade brought him from the Mets to the AL champions this season.

Andrew Heaney

Andrew Heaney joins both Eovaldi and Scherzer in the Rangers' rotation after he had a resurgent season with the Dodgers in 2022.

Shifting from Bruce Bochy's starters to a bullpen piece throughout this postseason run, the lefty now seeks some jewelry in his first season with Texas.

Josh Sborz

The Rangers' bullpen faced some criticism in September but Josh Sborz has been one of the team's best high-leverage relievers this postseason.

Sborz spent some time in between LA's minor and major league teams but has blossomed as a great bullpen option in his new team's march to the Fall Classic.

All five of these players have a chance to make history for their new club but it'll be a bittersweet moment for those back at Chavez Ravine should they accomplish that goal.

The World Series kicks off on Friday night in Arlington, Texas.
