It's pretty common knowledge at this point around the league that the Los Angeles Dodgers have a stacked minor league system.

In fact, Los Angeles has a league high of nine top 100 prospects according to MLB's latest release.

And one of those top prospects will be getting a taste of big league life.

No, catcher Dalton Rushing isn't getting called up to the Dodgers just yet, but he'll be participating in the annual MLB Futures Game, per The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya.

It's quite the honor for the Dodgers second round pick in 2022, as the Futures Game brings together the top prospects in baseball for a showcase game as part of the All Star Game festivities.

So Rushing will find himself taking hacks at T-Mobile Park -- home of the Seattle Mariners -- in short order and it's a well deserved honor for the catcher.

In addition to the impressive slash line posted by Ardaya, Rushing has also showed off the power that made him one of the higher selections in his draft class this past year.

As of this writing, the No. 51 prospect in baseball has hit seven home runs and driven in 32 RBI across 48 games for High-A Great Lakes, his first year at that level.

If he keeps that pace up, a call up to Double-A Tulsa shouldn't be too far away, and he'll have his opportunity to hit against higher level prospects in Seattle.

Rushing was immediately a name to keep an eye on when he was drafted last year, and so far he's more than lived up to the hype since he's gotten his chance in professional baseball.

As for the Futures Game, you can watch it on Saturday, July 8 at 4 PM PT on MLB Network and streaming on Peacock.
