The Cleveland Guardians' offense has been pretty bad this season. They're one of the worst home run-hitting teams and have struggled to get on base in a new era where it's been easier than ever to do so.

But all of those struggles may be past the Guardians as they were one of the best offensive teams in baseball last week.

No, I'm serious.

The Cleveland Guardians were at the top of the league in multiple offensive stats in their last two series.

How Many Runs?!

Scoring runs has been Cleveland's kryptonite all season. The Guardians have scored 212 total runs this season which is the third-fewest in baseball.

However, a chunk of those runs came just over the last seven days.

The Guardians scored 29 runs last wek. That's the third most in the American League with the Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers being the only teams to score more runs than Cleveland.

Cleveland's highest-scoring game was in the series finale against the Baltimore Orioles when they scored a staggering 12 runs.

Hitting Their Way On

The 2022 Guardians made a name for themselves with the number of hits they racked up against opposing pitchers. While this year's team is nothing similar to last season, they did show signs of what they could look like when firing on all cylinders.

Cleveland's 60 hits last week were the second most in baseball only trailing the Rangers who had five more hits than the Guardians. This many hits also helped them have the second-highest team batting average in the American League last week with a .279.

Andres Gimenez, who's recently found his swing, led the way with 11 hits, Josh Naylor tallied nine of his own, and Will Brennan also had eight.

Long Ball Coming Back?

Cleveland's five home runs ended up in the middle of the pack when comparing them to the rest of the league. But for a team who was on track at one point to not even hit a 100 all season, this is a win.

Gabriel Arias, Josh Bell, Brennan, Steven Kwan, and Naylor all went deep this past week in their offensive outburst.

It may not seem like a lot, but it's a sign of good things to come when combining that with the team's total number of hits and runs scored.
