KANSAS CITY-- The Cleveland Indians continued their slide and dropped their fourth straight game on Saturday night. They were 7-1 losers against the below-average Kansas City Royals and will refocus and prepare to win tomorrow in the series finale. Heath Fillmyer picked up the win for the Royals improving to 2-1 on the season and Corey Kluber was charged with the loss. The Indians ace is now 16-7 and his ERA dropped to 2.91. Here’s three things we came away with.

1. The offensive struggle

The Indians dropped their fourth game in a row and the offense wasn’t impressive. Jose Ramirez and Francisco Lindor continued to struggle combining to go 0-for-7 and everyone else was just as bad. The team combined for five hits on 31 at-bats for the night and just couldn’t seem to figure anything out.

2. Kluber off

The Tribe ace just didn’t seem like his usual self. Kluber gave up nine hits, allowing five earned runs and walked two. The Indians were relying on him to break their losing streak but he seemed to be in just as bad of a funk as the offense. This was definitely one of his most disappointing performances of the season.

3. Road difficulties

After seemingly turning around their road woes the Tribe have dropped four straight games on the road. With one more game left on this road trip the Tribe hopes to limp out of this road trip with a 4-3 record after a promising 2-0 start against Boston. If they aren’t able to figure out their issues on offense and on the road then they’ll be forced to start the playoffs on the road against elite opponents.

Tomorrow’s series finale will be at 2:15 pm and Shane Bieber 7-2, 4.36 ERA will face Jorge Lopez 0-2 6.52 ERA.
