Indians invite veteran catcher Beau Taylor to spring training

The Indians, always looking to add depth to their Major and Minor league rosters, added some catcher depth Friday, inviting veteran catcher Beau Taylor to spring training.
The 29-year-old will be in Goodyear with the Tribe on a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to spring training.
Taylor’s career has been almost exclusively with the Oakland A’s, joining them as the team’s 5 round pick in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Central Florida.
Over the last two seasons Taylor has played in 17 games at the Major League level with the A's, spending most of 2019 with Triple-A Las Vegas.
Last season he had 23 plate appearances with the A's at the Major League level, hitting .174 with two homers and two RBI, striking out six times with four walks.
In the Minors at AAA he hit .247 with eight homeruns and 36 RBI in 223 at-bats appearing in 72 games.
Taylor spent nearly a month in the Toronto organization following an August 16th waiver claim. He came right back to the A’s on September 10th and stayed there for the rest of the season.
