Baltimore Orioles Games Moved to More Expensive Cable Package Tier

In this story:
The Baltimore Orioles are looking to deliver another great season in 2024 after putting together a fantastic performance last year that saw them win over 100 games, make the playoffs, and win the AL East division.
They had a disappointing exit in the postseason, getting swept by the Texas Rangers in the ALDS, but they are ahead of schedule in their rebuild and have a bright future.
Fans are reaping the benefits from sticking with their team throughout the teardown effort by the organization as it looks like this group might win the Orioles' first World Series championship since 1983.
Unfortunately though, it will be more expensive for local fans to watch the team on MASN this season, as Xfinity has moved them into a more expensive tier.
"The transition of MASN from Xfinity's basic tier, Popular TV, to Ultimate TV is expected to take place Tuesday ... Popular TV subscribers who want to watch Orioles and Nationals games will need to purchase the pricier package, which will eventually cost $20 more a month," reports Hayes Gardner of The Baltimore Sun.
That brings things to roughly $115 per month for those with Xfinity who want to watch Baltimore in 2024.
MASN and Xfinity have had a deal in place since 2006, but that was set to expire on Feb. 29 before an extension was agreed upon, and then ultimately a new deal was struck.
It was not announced how long the deal will be.
Gardner also reports that fans looking to upgrade packages to keep watching the Orioles in 2024 will have the opportunity to do so at a cheaper rate.
"Comcast is offering a six-month promotional deal for Popular TV subscribers who want to transition to Ultimate TV: The upgrade will not cost anything extra for the first three months and will then cost an additional $10 a month for the following three months," he writes.
