With the San Diego Padres just about halfway through their 2023 season, we now have some realistic expectations made for the remainder of the year. The talent they boast on their roster always gives them the chance to win any game and put together some months of elite play that would shoot them up the rankings, but that has yet to happen.

The Friars have unfortunately been defined by inconsistency and bad luck this season. Their stars have rarely been able to get going on the same nights, runner consistently get left on base and the team simply has not had the best relationships with umpires in 2023. When looking at the past couple of weeks, San Diego has been playing some of their worst baseball at the worst possible time.

June 23 was the last time we saw them win a game as they were able to drive in 13 runs and take down the Washington Nationals. Since then, they have lost five straight games and even got swept by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Manny Machado has been quite honest about the mental state of the team and went as far as too say that sometimes they do get too comfortable and confident.

But with All-Star break right around the corner and the trade deadline not too far behind, fans are clearly impatient and seem to be growing weary after supporting this struggling squad for months after being promised a legit contender.

Let's see how they've been venting on Twitter.

San Diego clearly has a lot of work to do and the noise very well may be getting to them. Let's just hope they can prevail in the next few weeks or else some serious changes will have to be made.
