Can you name a list of five people tougher than Joe Musgrove? After dropping a heavy kettle ball on their foot, normals folks will likely get a doctor's note for the remainder of the year, file a lawsuit against the gym they were in, and certainly not take place in a simulated pitching session less than a month after the injury occurred.

However, Musgrove is far from your average Joe and he has been itching to the hit the mound again and throw against actual players. While this was by no means a live setting, the 30-year-old finally got a taste of what it was like to pitch again on Wednesday.

Following his simulated workout, Musgrove chatted with '97.3 The Fan' and touched base on how it felt to reach another bog milestone on his path back to active players list.

"I think throwing is one of the easier things for me right now," said Musgrove. "There's certain pitches and certain movements that it digs a little more on. I feel like the shapes were good today, first time getting a hitter in there, getting the jitters out. It went really well and we hardly talked about the foot at all, it was mainly pitching."

The Friars have been without Musgrove for almost all of their Spring Training so this is some amazing news. Even something as small as a simulation should be applauded considering all of the recent injuries the Padres have suffered.

San Diego will definitely take Musgrove back as soon as possible but also want him to put his health first. There is no point in him returning just to re-aggravate that same foot.
