Padres News: Manny Machado Assures Friars' RISP is Nothing to Worry About

In this story:
The San Diego Padres are coming off of a very two weeks of baseball where they were able to enjoy a ton of production from all throughout their lineup. The pitching staff and bullpen continue to climb up the league rankings and finally, we are starting to see their potential pan out.
Prior to the 2023 season, they were being poised as one of the deadliest offensive squads to ever hit the field. Petco Park went as far as to put together a highlight reel with a voice over that hypes up their stardom but they stopped playing it in the midst of the Padres' winning streak. Ever since they stopped playing it, the Friars have been doing it much better.

San Diego's Big Four has been able to look like their usual selves as of late and in their most recent series win over the Cleveland Guardians, Manny Machado, Juan Soto, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Xander Bogaerts all were seeing the ball well and swinging at a tremendous rate.
They finally were able to fix one of their biggest issues and bring in runners on base as they won two out of three games against the Guardians. Manny Machado took a ton of heat during the Padres' first rough two months and he is super happy to see his team getting over their offensive woes.

The 30-year-old star third baseman made it clear that he believes their improvements will continue.
“It’s a long season,” Manny Machado said. “You guys are putting so much emphasis on us not hitting with runners in scoring position. But I think we’re gonna have another 400 more plate appearances with that, and it will all balance out. We’ve been playing good baseball, and we’ve just got to continue doing that.”
