Can't get enough of Minor League Baseball? Well, you're in luck.

Minor League Baseball announced that the Triple-A baseball season will expand to 150 games in 2022, six more than the previous 144. It will be the longest minor league season since 1964.

The Triple-A season is expected to begin on April 5, with the end of the season on Sept. 28, a move designed to have the minor league season conclude around the same time Major League Baseball does.

However, this all contingent upon MLB and MLBPA reaching a deal on a new collective bargaining agreement, and the major league season beginning on time. MLB's tentative season currently runs from March 31 to Oct. 3. Regardless, the MLB lockout will not affect the minor league season's schedule.

Last year, the Triple-A season failed to begin on time due to ongoing concerns about COVID-19, causing it to carry into the first week of October. Typically, the minor league baseball season wraps up in the beginning of September, which has proved to be difficult for major league teams having players make late-season rehab assignments. The expanded season will help major league clubs with this issue.
