Phillies vs. Diamondbacks NLCS Schedule, Times Set
The Philadelphia Phillies will face the Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League Championship Series, which starts on Monday at Citizens Bank Park.
The Phillies wrapped up their best-of-five NL Division Series with a 3-1 win over the Atlanta Braves on Thursday. It’s the second straight season that Philadelphia has beaten Atlanta in the Division Series.
The winner of the Philadelphia-Arizona series will advance to the World Series, where they will face either the Houston Astros or the Texas Rangers, who will face each other in the American League Championship Series, which starts on Sunday.
If the Phillies and Astros win their respective series, it will be a rematch of last year’s World Series, which ended with the Astros winning in six games.
Arizona swept the Los Angeles Dodgers in its NLDS, which ended on Wednesday.
The Phillies and the Diamondbacks have never met in the postseason. Philadelphia is appearing in its 10th NLCS since it first appeared in it in 1976. The Phillies have won the NLCS six times — 1980, 1983, 1993, 2008, 2009 and 2022.
They’ve won the World Series twice — 1980 and 2008.
The Diamondbacks are in the postseason for the first time since 2017, when they reached the Division Series before losing to the Dodgers.
The Diamondbacks will be making their third appearance in the NLCS. In 2001, the Diamondbacks advanced to the NLCS for the first time and defeated Atlanta, 4-1. They won the World Series, beating the New York Yankees in seven games.
In 2007 the Diamondbacks faced the Colorado Rockies and were swept.
The Phillies won the season series with the Diamondbacks, 4-3.
