The Philadelphia Phillies organization and fanbase were given a scare when news started circulating that former manager and club legend, Charlie Manuel, had suffered a stroke on Saturday.

Updates continued to come as Manuel was making progress in his recovery.

His stroke occurred while undergoing a medical procedure in Florida, but they were able to attend to him immediately and remove the blood clot.

According to the original release, the next 24 hours were crucial to his recovery.

Reports and updates highlighted his improvement and now on Tuesday, the former Phillies manager has taken to social media to address everyone that was rooting for his recovery.

"I want to thank all the people who are pulling for me. I am touched that you are showing me love. And I want to thank @LKLDRegional Critical Care team for hustling and being on time. You have kept me in the game," he posted on X.

Manuel served as manager in Philadelphia from 2004-13, winning the World Series in 2008 and finishing first in the NL East for five consecutive seasons starting in 2007.

He was eventually fired in the 2013 season after 120 games. He finished his tenure with a record of 780-636.

The former manager still remained close with the franchise following his dismissal, returning to be the hitting coach for one season in 2019.

On Monday, Manuel was able to listen to messages from former players and spent the day speaking with family and friends.

His social media message is another encouraging sign during his recovery from a scary medical incident.
