The Philadelphia Phillies were able to deliver a massive Game 1 victory against the Atlanta Braves to open the NLDS round of the MLB Playoffs.

It was the same result they got last year when they took a 1-0 series lead on the road against the Braves.

Another familiar sight happened for the Phillies in this game.

Bryce Harper trotted around the bases after crushing an important home run.

He hit a line drive shot 375 feet over the right field wall in the sixth inning off of Atlanta's ace Spencer Strider.

This gave Philadelphia an important 2-0 lead knowing how much firepower was in the opposing team's dugout.

"Strider, man, he's one of the best in the game, if not the best right now, striking guys out. He had a phenomenal year, so it’s always a tough at-bat. You know he's going to come at you and throw his best at you. So just trying to get a pitch over and was able to get the slider up and do some damage," the superstar said matter-of-factly when describing the moment.

Harper delivering when it matters most is something that the Phillies have come accustomed to since he joined the team.

In his first postseason run with Philadelphia last year, he had a slash line of .349/.414/.746 with six home runs and 13 RBI.

The slugger has also been absolute killer when facing their division rivals.

He's seen the Atlanta five times in the playoffs. He has a batting average of .556 with 10 hits in 18 at-bats. Three of those hits have been home runs. Three others have been doubles and he's driven in six runs.

There's a reason why Harper's teammates call him "The Showman."

He's been putting on a show for the Phillies ever since he arrived.
