All five of the Texas Rangers' minor league affiliates were in action on Saturday.

Triple-A Round Rock was at Oklahoma City, Double-A Frisco was hosting Midland, High Class-A Hickory was at Aberdeen and Class-A Down East was hosting Myrtle Beach. The ACL Rangers continue action in rookie league.

Triple-A Round Rock

Round Rock (16-16, 60-46, 3rd, 5.0 GB) defeated Oklahoma City, 4-3, after LF Sandro Fabian’s (2-for-4, HR, 4 RBI) go-ahead grand slam in the 6th inning. 2B Justin Foscue (0-for-3, BB) drew a walk, 1B Blaine Crim (2-for-4, 2B) doubled, and SS Davis Wendzel (0-for-3, BB) walked to load the bases for Fabian’s big fly. DH Kevin Plawecki (2-for-4) finished with a multi-hit effort and is hitting .300 (6-for-20) for the Express since signing a minor-league contract with Texas on 7/28. In his first game with RR since 4/4, RHP Zak Kent (1 H, 0 R-ER, 0 BB, 3 SO) hurled 3.0 scoreless innings and allowed just 1 hit to pair with 3 strikeouts. RHP Cole Winn (W, 3.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R-ER, 3 BB, 4 SO) earned the win after tossing a trio of relief innings. 

Double-A Frisco

Frisco (18-14, 49-51, T2nd, 2.0 GB) hit three home runs in its 6-2 win over Midland. CF Evan Carter (1-for-3, 2 BB, HR, 2 RBI) gave the ‘Riders the lead in the first inning with a 2-R home run to right field. DH Liam Hicks (2-for-4, HR, RBI) and C David Garcia (2-for-3, BB, HR, 2 RBI) followed suit with long balls of their own to give Frisco its third win of the series. SS Keyber Rodriguez (3-for-4, BB, 2B, RBI) tallied 3 hits and has gone 7-for-17 (.412) since being promoted to Double-A last week. The ‘Riders used an opener as RHP Matt Bush (2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R-ER, 2 BB, 3 SO) has posted a 0.84 ERA (1 ER/10.2 IP) across 8 G with the RoughRiders. RHP Justin Slaten (2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R-ER, 0 BB, 5 SO) punched out 5 of 7 BF in a pair of relief innings. 

High Class-A Hickory

Hickory (24-10, 51-44, 1st, +3.5 GA) Hickory took its fifth straight game over Aberdeen with a 12-5 victory. CF Daniel Mateo (4-for-6, RBI) matched a season-high with 4 hits in the leadoff spot (also 6/18), including an RBI single in the 4th inning. RF Geisel Cepeda (2-for-5, HR, RBI) belted his 5th home run of the season for the ‘Dads, while SS Max Acosta (2-for-5, RBI) recorded his first multi-hit effort since 7/18. LF Wyatt Langford (2-for-5, BB, 2B) continued the hot start to his professional career, reaching 3 times in the contest. Langford is 5-for-14 (.357) with a 2B, 2 3B, and 2 RBI across 3 games with the Crawdads. RHP Jackson Leath (W, 2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R-ER, 2 BB, 1 SO) earned the win after a pair of scoreless innings. 

Class-A Down East

Down East (18-17, 55-41, T2nd, 4.0 GB) defeated Myrtle Beach, 3-2, on LF Tommy Specht ‘s (1-for-3, 2B, RBI) RBI double in the bottom of the 5th inning. The knock was the Woodies lone XBH of the contest and plated DH Zion Bannister (1-for-2) who singled earlier in the frame. CF Anthony Gutierrez (2-for-3) and 3B Miguel Villarroel (1-for-4) were responsible for Down East’s only other hits in the game. The Woodies got a strong effort from their bullpen as RHP Damian Mendoza (W, 2.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R-ER, 1 BB, 4 SO) and RHP Andy Rodriguez (S, 2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R-ER,3 SO) combined for 4.1 shutout frames. 

ACL Rangers

The ACL Rangers (18-27, 5th, 8.0 GB) lost to the ACL Guardians,5-4. 3B Christian Gonzalez (1-for-3, HR, 2 RBI) launched his first homer of the season and evened the game at 2 in the 3rd frame. SS Chandler Pollard (1-for-3, RBI) and LF Wady Mendez (0-for-3, RBI) each drove in runs. DH Sebastian Walcott (0-for-2, 2 BB) reached twice. RHP Nick Bautista III (1.0 IP, 0 H, 1 R-ER, 3 BB, 3 SO) surrendered the go-ahead homer to suffer his team-high 5th loss of the season.
