Watch: Texas Rangers Prospect Evan Carter Flashes Leather in Frisco

In this story:
Evan Carter is already off to a tremendous start for the Frisco RoughRiders, the Texas Rangers’ Double-A affiliate.
The organization's No. 1 prospect is known for his bat, and he's off to a great start hitting. But he provided a reminder earlier this week that his glove is pretty good, too.
The RoughRiders started a series with the Arkansas Travelers on Tuesday night at Riders Field and Carter flashed the leather with a diving catch in center field.

Last season while with both High Class-A Hickory and Frisco, Carter won a MiLB Gold Glove, which is given to one player at each position throughout minor league baseball.
Along with being the Rangers’ unanimous No. 1 prospect in the minors, he was named the organization’s prospect of the year for 2022 by Baseball America.
Carter is just 20 years old and the Rangers gave him a long look during Spring Training, but a starting job with the team coming out of camp wasn’t in the cards.
In the meantime, he’s started the season as one of Double-A’s most dangerous hitters. Carter is batting close to .400 and he already has three home runs and 15 RBI. Teams are also pitching around him. On Tuesday against Arkansas he had one official at-bat and was walked four times.
Carter was the Rangers’ second-round pick in 2020. He played just 32 games in 2021. In 2022, he batted .295/.397/.489/.886 in 106 games (117-for-397), with 86 runs, 21 doubles, 10 triples, 12 home runs and 73 RBI.
