Longtime Twins infielder Jorge Polanco is seen as a "good fit" for one American League West team by MLB Radio's Mike Ferrin.

Polanco has been at center of trade speculation all offseason as the Twins look to fill in their rotation. The team Ferrin sees as an ideal fit for Polanco is Seattle.

"They just still feel like they are a position player, or two, short in that group," Ferrin said Thursday. "We've talked about Jorge Polanco being a fit for Milwaukee. Jorge Polanco would solve a lot of problems for the Mariners. If the Mariners were willing to deal from one of those Bryce Miller, Bryan Woo, Emerson Hancock group – and Hancock probably a little farther back because of the injury history – they might be able to add Jorge Polanco to the mix."

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli told KFAN's Dan Barreiro on Wednesday "he'd bet on" a trade still happening this winter.

Polanco, in an injury shortened 2023 season, batted .255/.355/.454 with 14 home runs, 48 RBIs and 88 strikeouts in 80 games for the Twins.

With the Twins in need of rotational arms, Seattle would be seen as a good trade partner given the number of young arms in their organization. Here's a look at the stat lines of the three pitchers Ferrin mentioned:

Bryce Miller (25, RHP) - 8-7, 4.32 ERA, 131.1 IP, 119 SO, 26 BB

Bryan Woo (23, RHP) - 4-5, 4.21 ERA, 87.2 IP, 93 SO, 31 BB

Emerson Hancock (24, RHP) - 4.50 ERA, 12.0 IP, 6 SO, 3BB

All three made their major league debuts during the 2023 season with Miller arriving in May, Woo in June and Hancock in August. Hancock was placed on the 60-day injured list with a right shoulder strain after just his third start.

"[Polanco] would be a really good fit," Ferrin continued. "He would solve a lot of their issues at second base ... It would just make that position player group that much deeper."
