MLB announced that New York Yankees pitcher Domingo Germán is suspended 81 games for domestic violence. Even though 27-year-old was not charged with a crime, he allegedly slapped his girlfriend in September. Germán was placed on administrative leave on September 19 and missed 18 games last season. Since the suspension is administered retroactively, Germán will miss 63 games in the 2020 season. SI legal analyst Michael McCann unpacks MLB’s ruling and a possible appeal process moving forward.
