Corey Parson: The Minnesota Twins baseball organization has removed the statue of former racist owner Calvin Griffith. Right now, let's go out to Minnesota live at Target Field, talked to Mike Tucker, a man who played a big part in making this happen. Mike, the statue is gone. Tell me how you're feeling right now? Tell me what's going through your mind.

Mike Tucker: I just feel so relieved, energetic, enthusiastic, redeemed, like virtually my mind is racing. It might be a small thing to some, but to me, it was a testament to a racist and he's no longer here. So it does show it goes to show the Twins are actually on the right side and we'll be on the right side of history. This is talked about at 20, 30, 40 years. I'm hype.

Corey Parson: Mike, the twins also gave a twenty-five million dollar donation for racial injustice earlier in the year. Did this stuff was going on, you wrote. He spoke about not going to talk. Ifield not going to see your favorite team play. Tell me about how he's going to feel to walk back into Target for you.

Mike Tucker: Wow. I mean, it is going to feel like the first game all over again. I haven't been here in at least five years. I don't even know if I remember my way around. But honestly, I think it'll feel like coming home again. And I can't wait for them to announce the season. I will be one of the first people in line for tickets.

Corey Parson: Mike, I have an idea and hope the Minnesota Twins get this message when baseball figures out this situation in its opening day at Target for you. I think you should throw out the first pitch.

Mike Tucker: I mean, I consider myself more outfielder than a pitcher but I can adapt.

Corey Parson: All right. Thank you very much. Thank you very much, Michael. One man, boots on the ground. You did an excellent job for all the latest impactful news in the world of sports, Make sure you keep it locked right here at si.com
