New York Yankees Set Pitching Probables for Boston Red Sox Series

The New York Yankees have set most of their pitching probables for this week’s four-game series with the Boston Red Sox, which starts on Monday.
The first three games of the series start at 7:10 p.m. eastern. Thursday’s finale starts at 7:15 p.m.
The Yankees have not set an official probable for Wednesday’s game due to the injury to Luis Severino.
Clarke Schmidt (9-8, 4.54) is expected to start on Monday for the Yankees. He claimed a win on Thursday against Detroit, throwing 6.2 innings. He gave up five hits and three earned runs. He struck out six and walked none. He is 2-2 with a 5.00 ERA in his last seven starts. In his last 36 innings, he has struck out 40 and walked nine.
Right-hander Kutter Crawford (6-7, 4.36) will start for Boston on Monday. He took a no-decision against Tampa Bay on Tuesday, giving up three hits and five earned runs in 3.2 innings. He also struck out five and walked four. In his last seven games he is 1-2 with a 5.64 ERA. He has struck out 31 and walked 12 in his last 30.1 innings.
Carlos Rodón (2-5, 6.60) is expected to start on Tuesday. He was beat up against Detroit on Thursday, as he took the loss. He gave up eight hits and seven earned runs in 3.2 innings. He struck out four. He’s had trouble finding his footing since returning from the injured list. He is 2-2 with a 6.25 ERA with 30 strikeouts and 12 walks in his last 31.2 innings.
Nick Pivetta (9-8, 4.54) is expected to start for Boston on Tuesday. The right-hander took the loss in his last start against Tampa Bay on Wednesday. He allowed seven hits and three earned runs in 4.2 innings. He also struck out five and walked two. In his last seven games he is 2-2 with a 5.84 ERA. He has 38 strikeouts and 11 walks in his last 24.2 innings.
Right-hander Tanner Houck (4-9, 5.28) is expected to start for Boston on Wednesday. He lost his last start against Baltimore on Friday, giving up eight hits and five earned runs in 5.1 innings. He struck out five and walked two. He is 1-5 with a 5.24 ERA in his last seven starts.
Right-hander Michael King (4-5, 2.82) is set to start for the Yankees on Thursday and the Red Sox have not set their starter. King took a no-decision against Milwaukee on Friday, giving up one earned run and one walk in 5.0 innings. He also gave up four hits and struck out nine. He has been increasingly better since joining the rotation, with a 1-1 record and a 2.66 ERA in his last seven appearances (five starts).
After wrapping up the series with the Red Sox, the Yankees open a three-game series at Pittsburgh on Friday.
