Live Updates: New York Yankees vs. Philadelphia Phillies

TAMPA — Domingo Germán takes the mound with a lineup full of starting position players as New York hosts the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday afternoon.

Other than Clint Frazier and Luke Voit, this is as close to an Opening Day lineup as we've seen all spring! Many of these guys had the day off on Sunday when the team was in Dunedin playing the Blue Jays. In fact, only Jay Bruce is playing back-to-back games.

No Bryce Harper, as we saw last time the Phillies were in town, but still a lineup full of starters. Didi Gregorius is back in Tampa as well. A good test for Germán as he continues to battle for a rotation spot.

First inning

Domingo Germán allowed a leadoff single, but kept Philadelphia is held scoreless. Germán got Odúbel Herrera swinging to end the first frame.

Nothing doing for the Yankees in the bottom half as we head to the second!

Second inning

Another quick, scoreless frame for Germán. His curveball is really working today.

Fourth inning

Germán was lights out again on Monday, as has been the case all spring long. He throws four scoreless with six strikeouts.

In the bottom half, Gary Sánchez puts New York in front with an RBI single (after Gleyber Torres stole second base earlier in the inning).

Gary Sánchez turns on a fastball on the inner third and rips it 104.7 mph into left field for an RBI single.

He keeps showing this spring that he’s turned a corner after last season.

It's 1-0 Yankees heading into the fifth with Michael King on the mound.

Sixth inning

Rhys Hoskins takes King deep to straightaway center field, off the batter's eye, for Philadelphia's first run of the game.

Seventh inning

New York puts a three spot on the board. Giancarlo Stanton drives in two on a base hit and Rob Brantly follows with an RBI single of his own.

Ninth inning

FINAL: Yankees 4, Phillies 2

Nestor Cortes Jr. comes in and closes this one out. He allowed a run on a bloop single.
