NEW YORK - The captain has had enough of losing.

Entering play on Wednesday night, the New York Yankees were in danger of losing 10 games in a row for the first time since 1913. But not if Aaron Judge had anything to say about it.

Judge took matters into his own hands, launching three home runs and driving in six runs against the Washington Nationals to help his team reach a 9-0 lead.

Judge hit his first homer in his first at-bat of the game in the bottom of the first inning. One inning later he smashed a grand slam to dead center to extend the Yankee lead to 6-0. In the bottom of the seventh, Judge finished things off with his third long ball, which landed in the seats in right field.

Judge's accomplishment was the first of his career and the 34th three home run game in Yankees history. He also became the 25th player in Yankees history to hit three home runs in a game.

For Judge, his performance got him up to 27 homers and 54 RBIs on the season.

Judge missed 54 games across two months earlier in the season with a torn ligament in his right big toe after he crashed through the fence at Dodger Stadium in June while making a tough catch.

Now he is back and raking again for the Yankees, who have been massively struggling as of late.
