Madelyn Burke: Jon Jones has had a successful UFC career, he's defeated everyone in his path to being regarded as one of the best competitors in MMA. Despite Jones's success, his past has been checkered with controversy. I'm joined now by SI's Justin Barrasso to weigh in on Jones's latest feud with UFC President Dana White and what it could mean for Jones going forward. So, Justin, who is more at fault here, Jones or Dana?

Justin Barrasso: I was looking in my crystal ball this morning and I could tell you how this ends. This ends with a heavyweight fight for Jon Jones. I'm not saying it's concocted or that it's manufactured. But Jon Jones, you know, declaring he doesn't need the belt. He's right. I mean, Jonn Jones needs one thing. He needs to get paid. That belt doesn't mean anything without him. The next champion, whoever wins, the next three champions, he's not John Jones. The next five champions will be compared to the man who wasn't defeated, and gave it up under controversial terms. I don't see this ending any other way than Jones getting paid in going to the heavyweight division. I mean, Francis Ngannou is the Mike Tyson in terms of fighting style and ability in the UFC. That is as a big money match. This whole thing, to be honest, reminds me so much of McGregor Mayweather when Dana said over and over again, it's not going to happen, it's not going to happen, it's not going happen. And he may have meant it, but it added so much more to the fight when it did happen. So to me here, whether it's manufactured or organic, they'll figure it out and we'll get Jon in the heavyweight division.

Madelyn Burke: Now when you do look into that crystal ball, is there any scenario in which we don't see Jones back in the octagon?

Justin Barrasso: No, because money talks everywhere, especially in the fight world. I just don't envision a scenario, Jon is still at the top of his game. What a sin it would be for fighting, for the sport, to lose one of your top competitors. So, no, I don't think so. I mean, the great thing about Dana, too, and I'm sure some fighters maybe feel differently, but Dana's a businessman. And Jon is a massive commodity in the fight world. So for both of them, it just makes sense, too. And I don't blame Jon, I think he should get paid. If Michael Jordan got paid, LeBron James should get paid. Tom Brady and Drew Brees. The best competitors, the best athletes get paid the most, so I think they'll find a number, it'll have a lot of zeros attached to it and we'll get that fight.
